This 3" tall two-tone satin ornament tells the story of the Christmas customs of Philippines. Crafted of glass exclusively for Bronner's from Hungary, our Filipino Christmas custom ornament is sure to be a fun and enlightening conversation piece for years to come
Custom on the back of the ornament reads:
Christmas in the Philippines begins on the 16th of December at 4:00 a.m., when Filipinos gather in church to observe the first in a series of "Misa de Gallo." This novena of masses culminates on Christmas Eve at midnight with the "Misa de Aguinaldo." Christmas activities include caroling, processions which feature elaborately-crafted lanterns, and the Panuluyan which is a street drama depicting the journey to Bethlehem. Home decorations include the parol (a lantern which adorns the doorway) the Belen (nativity scene) and a "Christ birthday tree." Gifts are exchanged and Santa makes an appearance in some areas. The season ends on January 6 with the Feast of the Three Kings.
