To Lithuanians, Christmas Eve is one of the most important family holidays. The highlight of the day is the Kucious, or Christmas Eve dinner. The table is first covered with hayfollowed by a snow-white tablecloth to remind Lithuanians of Christ's manger. Twelve different kinds of foodare served symbolizing the twelve Apostles.
