Holland Christmas Custom Ornament
Item # 1000605
This 3" tall two-tone satin ornament tells the story of the Christmas customs of Holland. Crafted of glass exclusively for Bronner's from Hungary, our Dutch Christmas custom ornament is sure to be a fun and enlightening conversation piece for years to come!
Custom on the back of the ornament reads:

Saint Nicholas, the patron saint of children, plays an important role in the celebration of Christmas in Holland. He arrives by steamer, alone or with his assistant, Black Peter, on the last Saturday in November. His gift-giving rounds are made on December 6, when Dutch children leave hay and carrots in their wooden shoes for his white horse. Mystery presents in cleverly-wrapped packages are exchanged at St. Nicholas parties. After church services, Christmas Day is spent in family activities such as caroling, story-telling and skating. December 26, which is called "Second Christmas Day," is often a day for musical concerts honoring Christ's birth.
