Gerald Ford White House Historical Association 2023 Ornament
Description
The White House Historical Association celebrates the thirty-eighth President of the United States of America, Gerald Rudolph Ford, Jr., with this one of a kind collectible ornament for 2023.
Inspired by handcrafted decorations selected by the President and first Lady Betty Ford during their time in the White House, this colorful 3D brass ornament depicts a pine wreath adorned with festive decorations—stars, doves, gingerbread men, flowers, and snowflakes while a cheery red ribbon holds the sentiment: Christmas 2023, The White House.
Reverse side of 2¾" tall ornament features five emblems relating to the life and presidency of Gerald Ford:
- "Troop 15" signifies his rank of Eagle Scout, the highest achievable rank in the Boy Scouts of America
- "48" is the number he wore when playing football for the University of Michigan
- A likeness of the family's golden retriever "Liberty"
- A Bicentennial pin signifying President And Mrs. Ford's contribution to celebrating the 200th anniversary of America's founding
- An emblem representing the USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier (CVN 78)
- A gold plaque featuring the view toward the North Portico of the White house.
Beautifully boxed on a velvet flocked tray with gold embossing, set also includes a 10-page booklet chronicling the 1974-1977 Presidency of Gerald. R. Ford and First Lady Betty Ford along with fun facts of the Ford Family’s Holiday Traditions. ©WHHA 2023
