Description

This 3" tall two-tone satin ornament tells the story of the Christmas customs of Austria. Crafted of glass exclusively for Bronner's from Hungary, our Austrian Christmas custom ornament is sure to be a fun and enlightening conversation piece for years to come!
Custom on the back of the ornament reads:
During the four weeks of Advent, Austrian homes display a star in their windows, and at the family devotion light the weekly Advent wreath candles. St. Nicholas brings treats for children on December 6, St. Nicholas Day. The Christmas tree, decorated with candles and ornaments, is first seen on Christmas Eve when the Christkind (Christ Child) brings presents. Christmas Day and December 26 are for church services and family visits. Carols, including the world-famous "Stille Nacht" (Silent Night) composed in Oberndorf, Austria, in 1818, fill the air. On January 6, symbolic wisemen visit homes and inscribe K+M+B (initials of the three wisemen) above doorways in exchange for gifts to charity.
